About KTM Transformers

Three decades of transformer work in Sarawak.

Local expertise. Proven reliability. Complete power-engineering solutions.

Company overview

From STM Transformers to KTM Transformers.

KTM Transformers Sdn Bhd was established in Sarawak in 1994 as STM Transformers Sdn Bhd and has since rebranded under the KTM name. Licences held under both entities remain valid.

Building on more than three decades of transformer and power-engineering experience, we provide equipment supply, fabrication, installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, repair and refurbishment services to utilities, power-generation companies, industrial facilities, infrastructure providers and electrical contractors.

We combine experienced local personnel, workshop capabilities and strategic technical partnerships to deliver reliable solutions tailored to each client’s equipment, site conditions and operational requirements.

Mission

To deliver safe, reliable and high-quality electrical and power-engineering solutions through skilled workmanship, responsive service and compliance with applicable industry standards.

Vision

To be the region’s trusted electrical and power-engineering partner, recognised for safety, technical capability, quality, innovation and dependable service.

Location

The Sarawak advantage

Our workshop and crews are based at Demak Laut Industrial Park in Kuching, within reach of the state’s power stations, industrial estates and port facilities.

Being local matters for heavy electrical plant. Transformers are difficult to move and expensive to leave out of service, so the ability to send competent people, test equipment and oil-handling plant to site quickly — rather than waiting on a mobilisation from West Malaysia or overseas — is often the difference between a short outage and a long one.

Short mobilisation distances

Field teams reach most Sarawak sites within a day, including plantation and rural installations.

Local workshop capacity

Major overhaul, refurbishment, oil treatment and fabrication handled in Kuching rather than shipped away.

Familiar operating conditions

Equipment specified and maintained for humid tropical conditions, dust-laden plant environments and remote sites.

Safety & quality

Safety and quality

Work is planned and carried out with close attention to:

  • Workplace safety
  • Equipment safety
  • Applicable technical standards
  • Client specifications and procedures
  • Quality of workmanship
  • Inspection and testing
  • Proper documentation
  • Operational reliability

Equipment is inspected and tested before being returned to service.
